13th Flatlander’s Fling Climbing Competition

The results from the Flatlander’s Fling and photographs from both competitions are now up. See the links to the right for the information.

Thanks to those who came out this past Saturday and Sunday for the Eastern Edge Climber Series hosted by ECU Flatlander’s Fling  & UNCW Seaside Scramble competitions. The finally tally is 92 climbers between the two competitions, from 6 different schools (ECU, UNCW, Wake Tech, UNCC, CPCC, & NCSU)!

Scores and photos from both competitions will be posted to Flatlander’s Fling in the next few days. Routes will stay up for those that missed out or wish to work on certain ones.

Our shirts arrived yesterday and they look sharp. The material feels quite nice, though they run smaller then expected. Stop by the Adventure Program for a sneak peak.

A fair number of people have expressed interest in heading to UNCW for their climbing competition. At the conclusion of the Flatlander’s Fling, we’ll help organize carpools for those wanting to watch or compete in UNCW’s Seaside Scramble.

For those curious to know what the shirts will look like, you can see a mock up of the front and the back. The shirts are 100% polyester-wicking-knit so they’ll dry quick if they get wet.  The actual shirt color may vary a little so don’t hold us to the exact gold color you see!

Hibachi Express, on S. Evans Street, has donated a number of gifts cards for their sushi and hibachi.

The Bicycle Post, with two locations here in Greenville, can cover all your biking needs, from equipment to repair.

With 15 days until the kickoff of the First Annual Eastern Edge Climbing Series our team is hard at work to bring you the best comp ever.  We currently have 13 people signed up already.  So if you have been putting off signing up make sure you reserve your spot and get your t-shirt.  Remember that the first 27 people who sign up get a t-shirt free!
